I met Melisa by a total fluke! The best part is, I had no idea how lucky our family was about to get!

Like most, we are very busy parents trying to give our child a successful future! She is the first going to college, so we felt a little unprepared, maybe uneducated and somewhat desperate to find someone to lead us in the right direction! Our daughter has expressed interest in the National Guard ROTC program. I took a chance dial the number that I found on the website and the most calming young lady picked up the phone it was “Melisa”.

Melisa, immediately made me feel comfortable and most of all just listened. I had no idea what to expect and honestly wasn’t even sure what to ask and she just guided me through the whole phone call. She was SO patient!!

It’s very hard to manage everybody’s schedule and find a time to go visit the campus that would work for all of us. She offered to give us a private tour of the ROTC building and the college campus! We couldn’t resist our excitement and said we would be there!

Meeting Melisa in person for the first time after texting and emailing throughout the week before our visit was like catching up with a friend! We got right down to business, she did just what she said, introduced us to all the right people and showed us all the right things!

It never felt overwhelming because she had already told them we were coming and had a plan! That’s how organized and considerate she is.

Melisa did not have to take the time out of her busy day to show our family around the campus, but she did and was so proud while doing it! Even knew where to take all the pictures to capture our memories! I mean, I just kept saying to myself who is this girl?! How did we get so lucky!

If our child has the opportunity and gets accepted into the ROTC program, one of the first people that we will reach out to is Melissa. Honestly hope to keep in touch with her anyway, because I completely trust her knowledge.

We are so THANKFUL and if you get the chance to ever meet her, it will be something you will always remember!
