Melisa Hernandez | Founder
Hi, I’m Melisa Hernandez, a junior at The Ohio State University, a cadet in Ohio State Army ROTC, and a proud member of the Ohio National Guard. I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree with plans to attend graduate school and become a licensed clinical psychologist.
I started Combat Wellness because I know how tough it can be to juggle ROTC, school, jobs, and military obligations — and I believe no one should have to navigate it alone.
As a future officer and mental health professional, I’m passionate about helping people through life’s challenges, starting right here with my fellow cadets. Through Combat Wellness, I offer one-on-one peer mentorship and wellness coaching to support cadets and service members who may be struggling with stress, burnout, or finding balance within it all.
Through one-on-one sessions, guided support, and honest conversation, my goal is to help others — not just as cadets or students, but as people. This nonprofit is the first step in a much larger journey: to create a lasting network of peer support and mental wellness across military communities nationwide, starting here at Ohio State.
Whether you need someone to talk to, help finding support, or just a fellow cadet who understands what you're going through — I’m here to walk that path with you.
In service and support,
Melisa Hernandez
